Born on January 3, 1945 in Dallas, TX, Stephen Stills became one of the major figures in the Californian folk-rock community. His first great success came in 1965 when he formed the band Buffalo Springfield with Neil Young, releasing the hit “For What It’s Worth”. After the group disbanded in 1968, Stills teamed up with David Crosby and Graham Nash to form the vocal harmony supergroup Crosby, Stills & Nash. During the following decades Stills often recorded with the group while releasing his own successful solo albums, namely his 1970 self-titled debut.
