Modern blues big shot Robert Cray delivered this debut album in 1980. Sketching out the smooth vocals and fluid lead style that would mark the rest of his career, the record delves into understated Chicago blues, smoky soul blues and straight-up R&B with the sort of steady, across-the-board quality that continues to be Cray's greatest strength.
